T2 Cellar 2022 Mourvèdre · Weinbau Vineyard · Wahluke Slope, Washington
The Moment
This is the bottle for when you want something serious.
Savory. Structured. A little brooding.
Wahluke Slope Mourvèdre at its most grounded — a red that leans into spice, earth, and architecture rather than flash. It’s built for slow food, long conversations, and nights when you want depth in the glass.
What It Feels Like
In the glass: deep garnet with a dark, violet core — it looks powerful before you even swirl it.
The nose is unmistakably Weinbau: black plum and cured meats, layered with cracked black pepper, dried sage, and that scorched-earth mineral signature the vineyard is known for.
On the palate, structure leads. Firm, architectural tannins frame flavors of blackberry compote, anise, and dark spice. A subtle touch of Syrah adds a velvety mid-palate, softening the edges just enough to bridge the Mourvèdre’s savory backbone with its dark fruit core.
The finish is long, iron-tinged, and deeply savory — espresso bean, herbal resin, and warm stone lingering well after the sip.
Why We Love This Bottle
Because this is Washington Mourvèdre that doesn’t try to be soft or sweet. It’s expressive, grounded, and confident — a wine that respects the rugged personality of the Wahluke Slope.
For those who say:
“I want something structured, not fruity.”
This is that bottle.
