The Moment

Some Valpolicellas are built around pure freshness.
Others bring a little more polish to the table.

The 2024 Fasoli Gino “La Corte del Pozzo” Valpolicella feels like it lands beautifully in that second lane — bright and energetic, but with enough softness and spice to make it feel complete at dinner. A red with fresh notes, a dry and velvety palate, and a profile that comes from hillside vineyards in the Val d’Illasi with predominantly calcareous soils.

This is part of Fasoli Gino’s La Corte del Pozzo line, from organically farmed Veneto hillside vineyards, and the vines are trained in the traditional short Veronese pergola with yields around 120 quintals per hectare.

What It Feels Like

Think pasta on the table, a roast chicken coming out of the oven, and a bottle that keeps dinner lively instead of weighing it down.

What makes this wine appealing is the balance between fruit and freshness. The wine leans toward dry and velvety, with red fruit jam, fresh red fruit, and hints of vanilla, with a palate that is smooth, well-bodied, and balanced. That makes this feel like a very useful Valpolicella: enough brightness for weeknights, enough shape for real food.

Clean, refreshing, and lightly spiced, with red fruit lingering through the close.

Why We Love This Bottle

A Valpolicella That Stays Useful
Exactly the kind of bottle people want from Valpolicella: bright fruit, dry finish, and enough softness to work across a lot of dinners.

Hill Fruit Gives It Shape
The wine comes from hillside vineyards in Val d’Illasi with calcareous soils, which helps explain why it likely shows both freshness and a little more structure than a flatter, simpler red.

Classic Pairing Red
The winery directly recommends it with flavorful first courses, game sauces, grilled red meats, and medium-aged cheeses, which makes this feel especially strong as a food-first shop bottle.

Pair It With

• Mushroom risotto
• Pappardelle with wild boar ragù
• Gnocchi with duck sauce
• Grilled steak or pork ribs
• Monte Veronese, Asiago d’allevo, or Provolone Valpadana
