Grateful Palate “Precious” Syrah · Jumilla, Spain · 2021
The Moment
The room gets quieter in the best way.
Dinner’s on the table, the candles are doing more work than the overhead lights, and someone pours a red that smells like violets, blueberries, and warm vanilla before the glass even settles.
That’s the mood of the 2021 Grateful Palate “Precious” Syrah — rich without being loud, silky without losing structure, and just dramatic enough to feel like the night has officially started.
What It Feels Like
This is Syrah with a little theater to it.
From Jumilla, Spain, this 100% Syrah balances delicacy and power — exactly how the winery describes it. There’s ripe blue and black fruit, floral lift, a touch of toasty oak, and a “beacon of acid” that keeps the wine focused instead of heavy. Grateful Palate’s own notes specifically call out violets, vanilla, fresh cream, blueberries, toasty wood, super-soft elegant silky tannins, and a very long finish.
It’s the kind of red that feels plush and polished, but still knows how to hold the room.

Why We Love This Bottle
A More Elegant Side of Syrah
This isn’t brute-force Syrah. It’s plush, floral, and beautifully composed.
Jumilla With Lift
Warm-climate fruit meets freshness and focus, giving the wine richness without drag.
Built for Right-Now or Later
The winery notes it has aging potential, but it’s already expressive and approachable today.
This is the bottle for when you want a red that feels a little dressed up, but still very drinkable.
Pair It With
• Steak with pepper or herb butter
• Lamb chops
• Mushroom risotto
• Charred eggplant
• Aged Manchego or firm sheep’s milk cheese
The wine’s dark fruit, floral lift, and silky structure make it especially good with richer dishes that don’t overpower nuance.
